  5.  Subject:       Audio becomes distorted (clipped) when the radio
  6.                 is warm.  The period of time required for this
  7.                 problem to become evident varies depending on the
  8.                 ambient temperature.  This problem may not be evi-
  9.                 dent at low audio levels.

  13.       Write to ICOM's customer service department for a copy of
  14.       this service bulletin.

  19.  Subject:       The remote relay sometimes stays energized after a
  20.                 signal is no longer present.  The radio must be
  21.                 turned off and back on to clear this situation
  22.                 before the modification.

  26.   1.  Remove the covers from the radio and remove the main circuit
  27.       board on the side of the radio.

  29.   2.  Cut the trace between the base of Q5 and R106 on the foil
  30.       side of the main board.
  31.  
  32.   3.  Install a RD6A diode (this part is critical and must be ob-
  33.       tained from ICOM) with its cathode toward R106 across the
  34.       cut in the trace.
  35.  
  36.   4.  Reinstall the board and insure mechanical clearance of the
  37.       new diode.
  38.  
  39.   5.  Verify proper operation of the recorder function.
